Patty has recently become a columnist for the Mechanicsville Local (voluntarily and without compensation). When first approached, it was for the purpose of real estate. She stood her ground and felt she could speak more openly and creatively to motherhood.


Her column "The Mommy Moment" shares the moments we have with our children that are funny, challenging and worth taking the time to think about. Recent columns include, "Puddle Jumping". "Popcorn is Flammable" and "The Warm Fuzzy".


She has also written a story that is being considered by the television show "Touched By An Angel". The story entails her growing up with a nearly deaf brother and her current day challenges in pursing a cochlear implant for him. Keep your fingers crossed! If selected, Patty will be flown to Utah where the series is filmed and observe the creating of her story.

Patty Hogg has recently begun participation in Project SEAM; Students emailing alumni-mentors, out of Upstate, Schenectady New York, where she grew up. With a background in medicine and now in business, the program welcomes her experiences and time in the mentorship program.


Actually, Patty's guidance counselor from high school is now heading up the program. She shared the following when Patty contacted her:


"You always had such a positive approach about everything. You were always kind and generous about your brothers, even though they drove you a little crazy and you always worked hard. You had a smile always in your eyes and I could never, ever forget you!!


"I had a really terrible day and just got back to finish up my work and found the delighful note you sent me. Thanks for coming out of my past. I wish you all the best and I am very proud of your accomplishments. Thank you for participating in project SEAM".
